Statement of Faith

I believe in one Almighty God, who is holy and sovereign in all things. He has revealed Himself in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe God, the Father is not only holy and just, but He is also compassionate, gracious and merciful. After the example and model of Jesus, He desires His followers to demonstrate in their lives integrity, justice, compassion, grace and mercy.

I believe God, the Son, came among us in the person of Jesus, was fully God and fully human. He walked among us. He taught by the sea. He healed our diseases. He died on a cross and rose from the grave. He came to atone for our sins and reconcile us to a holy and just God.

I believe God, the Holy Spirit, is active and present in our daily lives. He leads us and guides us in ways we do not know or always understand. As we read and pray the Scriptures, He guides our thoughts. As we worship, He touches our emotions. He reveals Himself to us in many ways; through life’s everyday experiences, nature and people.

I believe God is sovereign and faithful. His sovereignty extends even to my salvation. Behind my choice to believe and follow Jesus the Christ is God’s sovereign and effectual call. My assurance of God’s faithful love is found not in my will but in His. He will not leave me, nor forsake me, for He has called me.

I believe the Bible is the Word of God given to us not to inform us but to transform us. I believe that everyone who claims Jesus, as Lord and Savior, should be engaged in personal Bible reading, study and reflection. The Word of God is meant to dwell within us richly.

I believe in the priesthood of all believers. I believe those who claim Jesus, as Lord and Savior, must be engaged in personal ministry. I believe all who claim Jesus, as Lord and Savior, must make His love real. We are called to live His love by compassionately serving others.
